Tall, dark and handsome
Describes me to a Tee
But when the spell is broken
It’s more like ordinary

I asked this woman at a club
If she’d like to dance
Hoping in the back of my mind
This might lead to romance

She barley took the time to look
And shot me this response
It dawned on me right then and there
We need a renaissance

She looked at me and said:
You’re not tall enough
You’re not rich enough
And you sure don’t have the looks
The kind of man I’m looking for
Is in magazines and books

He’s filthy rich
Looks like Brad Pitt
And is a borderline crook

He’s got it all
Owns a chain of malls
He’s a King while you’re a Rook

(Chorus)
I’ve been weighed, measured
And found to be quite wanting
The words still ring inside my head
And have proven to be daunting
I used to think the world was fair
But now I’ve smartened up
By the scale these women use to judge
I didn’t measure up

The next week I tried my luck again
Thinking things had to improve
I started talking to a woman
To see if she’d approve

The look she gave removed all doubt
There was no future for us
My self-esteem had been knocked out
And thrown under the bus

She looked at me and said:
You’re not buff enough
You’re not tan enough
You’re not busting out of that shirt
The kind of man I’m looking for
Is a muscle headed jerk

He may cheat on me
Have no degree
And care not much for work

But he struts around
Like he owns the town
With the cutest little smirk

(Chorus)
I’ve been weighed, measured
And found to be quite wanting
The words still ring inside my head
And have proven to be daunting
I used to think the world was fair
But now I’ve smartened up
By the scale these women use to judge
